There are a number of ways to reach Thassos Island, which all obviously depend on where you are travelling from.
If you need to fly to Greece, there are charter flights available to the local airport at Kavala (Megas Alexandros - KVA) during the summer season (May - September). It's always a good idea to check a general search engine for flights / deals - such as Opodo.com, before checking directly with a specific airline company.
Upon reaching Kavala airport, you will then have to take a short taxi ride to the ferry-port of Keramoti to then take the ferry across to the island itself. Taxi's are located directly outside the airport and a short journey of approx. 10 / 15 minutes costs roughly 17 euro's. The ferry-boat itself costs 3 euro's per person and tickets are purchased from a kiosk at the port before boarding.
The ferry arrives at the port of Thassos Town (more commonly known as Limenas), and from there a short taxi ride again will bring you to the beautiful island resort of Skala Potamias. Taxi's are waiting at the ferry-port for passengers, and a journey of approximately 20 minutes should cost roughly 18 euro's.
For those travelling to Thassos by car, a good way to plan your route is to use Google Maps, or for a more detailed plan - Google Earth, which shows the shortest route, travelling times, detailed directions etc.
